Elvan powder adsorbs
and dissolves heavy metals and
poisonous materials harmful to
the human body. Laboratory tests
conducted by Professor of Environment
and Microbiology Lee Sung Taek
at the Korean Advanced Institute
of Science and Technology (KAIST),
showed a significant (88%) adsorption
of heavy metals such as iron and
copper [Fig.]. The use of elvan
stone is a significant factor
in this reduction. Tests indicate
that elvan powder could be used
for the removal of heavy metals
from water.
