Athlete's
foot, also known as
Tinea Pedis, which affects the
skin of the feet, especially
the soles and toes, is the most
common fungal infection. Statistics
from the drug company Novartis
indicate that 75 percent of
the American population will
experience the effects of Athlete's
foot during their lives, and
that 26 million Americans, nearly
10 percent of the population
can be expected to have the
disease at any given time. The
disease occurs most commonly
in young adults or teenage children
and those who are immune supressed.
Pi-Ray
fiber, because of its antifungal
properties can reduce athlete's
foot symptoms especially when
used in socks. Tests conducted
by USC in Los Angeles and
BioScreen in Torrance concluded
that Pi-Ray fiber helps prevent
both Tinea pedis and Candida.
